Trina Salm Ward
Research Program Manager
As Research Program Manager, I support Zilber School of Public Health faculty in getting their research programs started. This includes:
- Tracking/reporting on current research projects, such as IRB and funder reporting due dates
- Building connections with other academic organizations or community organizations
- Identifying potential funding opportunities
- Submitting grant proposals
- Developing legal, regulatory and institutional arrangements such as Business Associate Agreements, IRB authorization letters and Data Sharing Agreements
I hold a Masters degree in Social Work and a Marriage and Family Therapy Certificate from UW-Milwaukee. I recently completed an interdisciplinary PhD in Health Sciences from UW-Milwaukee, with a focus on infant and maternal health. I have over ten years of experience in coordinating and implementing interdisciplinary research, including serving as Research Program Manager at the Center for Urban Population Health, and as a Site Coordinator at the UW-Milwaukee Center for Applied and Behavioral Health Research's Clinical Trials Unit. I have also worked as a family therapist in the City of Racine.
