I am in the MPH program in Community and Behavioral Health Promotion at the Zilber School of Public Health. I am also the secretary for the Public Health Graduate Student Association (PHGSA). My previous research has centered on substance abuse, including Narcotics Anonymous groups and pharmacists’ roles in dealing with the emerging prescription drug abuse epidemic. Possible future research interests of mine are centered on the intersection of maternal and child health and substance abuse by focusing on the unique experience of pregnant addicts.
I draw from my background in psychology and anthropology, as well as public health to investigate these topics using mixed methods. As part of my research in public health, I hope to improve psychosocial treatment outcomes for substance abusers, their families and communities.
