I am a native of Two Rivers, WI. I graduated from UW-Oshkosh in 2000 with a degree in Spanish and Education. I taught Spanish at the middle school and high school level for a few years, and then worked with Spanish-speaking job seekers in a human resources capacity. I have also done medical interpreting, most recently at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, and have taken the past few years off of work to stay at home with my small children. I have been interested in public health issues for years, particularly as they relate to minorities and women and children, which is what led me to seek my Master of Public Health at the Zilber School of Public Health. I am currently enrolled as a part-time MPH student in the Community and Behavioral Health Promotion track and hope to work with women in Milwaukee in order to improve birth outcomes.
