The LPM was established in 2008 by Peter J. Tonellato, PhD at Harvard Medical School as part of the Center for Biomedical Informatics. LPM was extended in 2010 to the School of Public Health at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. UWM will focus on applications of biomedical informatics research to address public health questions and identify and elucidate public health inequalities.
