The Testing Center The Testing Center is looking to add a couple of responsible, fun, organized students to our staff.

  • On-campus position, 10-15 hours/week
  • Mostly weekday, day time hours with some weekend shifts 
  • $7.50-8.50/hour  
QualificationsYou must have WORK STUDY awarded through Financial Aid to be considered for this position.  Looking individuals with excellent interpersonal communication skills, attention to detail, customer service experience and general office skills. Dependability is a key attribute for this position.

Job DescriptionWork at the Testing Center includes: checking in students for testing, administering tests, scheduling appointments, serving as a resource for newly admitted students during their transition to college, answering phones, and filing.

The Information Area

  • On-campus position, 12-20 hours/week
  • Information Office hours are 8am-6pm Monday, 8am-4:30pm Wednesday-Friday
  • $7.50/hour  
QualificationsYou must have WORK STUDY awarded through Financial Aid to be considered for this position.  We are looking for a student who can start working in the Fall Semester.  We require someone with excellent customer service skills, dependability, accuracy, detail oriented, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Freshman and sophomores are encouraged to apply.

Job DescriptionYou will provide information on policies, accept forms, input data and process student ID cards. You will also work with student records and produce computer generated transcripts. This job is an excellent resume builder.

Qualifications

The right individual for this position must be detail-oriented, be well organized and business-minded, with the ability to display unequivocal interpersonal skills to the public as well as co-workers; possess impeccable customer service skills both in person as well as on the telephone or email. Elevated software experience preferred; possess the ability to work independently within a team setting. The candidate must be a self-starter willing to handle various tasks associated with the Registrar’s office.

You must have a Work Study award as part of your financial aid package to be considered for this position and have a block of 2 or more hours during the day to work.

Job Description

Primary duties consist of auditing transfer work on the student’s UWM transcript, data entry of transfer work from external schools & colleges; course equivalency rule building for external courses; filing various documents as well as preparing documents for scanning; working with Graduation Processing staff to assist with preparing transcripts and diplomas for graduating students; enter comments on PAWS regarding graduation; answering telephone calls regarding graduation, and other “record-related” issues; process incoming add/drop and withdrawal forms as assigned; process Dean’s Ok worklist items on PAWS; serve as the receptionist for the immediate area; direct in-person traffic to the appropriate staff member, department, and/or other offices throughout the campus. Work with the staff in the Curricular & Faculty Services unit within the Registrar’s office, assisting with enrollment processing, curricular updates and classroom assignments (scheduling). Work with the Registrar office Business Manager; place service calls for office equipment and building issues; deliver paperwork to other offices on campus, prepare payment forms for goods and services; verify departmental expenses are properly paid by using WISDM; assist with maintaining paper files. During slower periods you will assist with other duties as assigned by the supervisor or other members of the Registrar’s senior staff.
