Tests Offered at UWM
The UWM Testing Center provides a variety of services to meet your testing and assessment needs. Whether you need to take your ACT test, placement test or test to earn college credit, the Testing Center can assist you.
American College Testing (ACT) Residual This college entrance exam is used to determine admission to the university. The residual ACT is taken in the UWM Testing Center and the scores may only be used at UWM. The length of the test is 3 3/4 hours. There is a $50.00 fee, which must be paid at the time of testing. The residual ACT is offered on certain Mondays at 4:00 pm and various Tuesdays at 12:30 pm. You must wait 60 days before retesting or your scores will be invalid. An appointment is required. Graphing calculators are allowed.

MAT (Miller Analogies Test)The MAT (Miller Analogies Test) test is a series of analogies designed to measure a person's reasoning ability. It is an entrance requirement for some graduate programs. UWM offers this test only in the computer-based format. You will receive an unofficial copy of your score report for the computer based test at the conclusion of testing. Scores are mailed to your home and the institution(s) designated within 10-14 business days. The fee for this test is $75.00 and must be paid at the time of the exam.
