I have
worked at
UWM as a Part
Time Staff Sign Language Interpreter
since September 1998.During my Interpreter Training Program, I
completed
an 8-week internship with the UWM Deaf/Hard of Hearing Program
and quickly
realized how much I love Post-Secondary interpreting. After
my internship,
I was lucky enough to be asked to sign on as a Part Time Interpreter,
and I couldn't imagine
myself anywhere else. Working in an academic environment challenges my
interpreting
in many ways, as well as exposes my mind to new (and old!)
philosophies, research, and
technologies found in universities today. You can learn something
new every
day.
