Information for Prospective Students

Greetings from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee!

While you are deciding on which college to attend, it is important to look at what the school has to offer!  UWM has been identified as one of the top research institutions in the country, ranking in the top 3.5% of more than 3,600 national universities.  The faculty is comprised of nationally renowned academic leaders.  UWM is one of only three schools in Wisconsin which offers Ph.D. programs. UWM also offers more than 120 undergraduate majors and sub-majors, 47 Master's and 17 Ph.D. degrees.

For more information and a campus tour, check out the Department of Recruitment and Outreach website at http://www.uwm.edu/4moreinfo/.  If you need accommodations during your tour, please be sure to inform the Department of Recruitment and Outreach of your accommodation needs.

UWM’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program, a component of the Student Accessibility Center, provides accommodations to UWM students who are Deaf or Hard of hearing as required by Section 504 of the 1973 Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title II.  These two federal regulations determine the type and quality of services to be provided.

The Student Accessibility Center’s mission is to create an accessible university community for students with disabilities, which fosters the development of each student’s potential.  As a campus resource, we work with students, faculty, and staff to promote an increased awareness of the abilities of all students and to ensure that they are regarded on the basis of ability, not disability.

For more information about the Student Accessibility Center, please visit  http://www.uwm.edu/Dept/DSAD/SAC/
