UNION POLICY BOARD OFFICE ALLOCATIONS
Union Policy Board has made the office allocations for 2006-2007 and
have been posted them outside the Center for Student Involvement (Union
350), the Student Association Office (Union 363), and as well as above
the student organization mailboxes (3rd Floor Union). All appeals are
due in writing to the Union Policy Board by FRIDAY, March 17 at NOON
and may be dropped off at the Center for Student Involvement. Questions
can be referred to the Union Policy Board Chair, 229-4366 or email@example.com.
SAC FALL 2006 FUNDING MEETING
The large grant meeting for fall 2006 (requests
over $700) has been set. It will be held on Saturday, 4/22/06, beginning
at 10 am. Expenses
that occur in July 2006 may or may not be eligible for this meeting.
If the expenditure must be made in June (payment made) for a trip or
program in July, then it would not qualify. If the expense will occur
in July then it is eligible. All grant request forms/packets will be
due in the Center for Student Involvement on Friday, 4/7/06 before noon. The
2006-2007 forms are available at: http://www.uwm.edu/Dept/sao/forms_funding.html.
DO NOT use this year’s form to request money for next semester.
FALL RECEIPTS AND SPRING DEADLINES
Student organizations that received
SAC funding for fall 2005 events or travel and have receipts they wish
to be reimbursed for, MUST turn
in those receipts into the Student Activities Business Office (Union
350) by March 31, 2006. Any funding for fall 2005 events and travel left
in student accounts after this date will be returned to SAC.
Student Organizations with funding for spring 2006 events and travel
(expenses that occur between January 1, 2006 and June 30, 2006) must
meet with an advisor in the Center for Student Involvement prior to April
15, 2006 to make arrangements to spend this money. Failure to do so may
result in the funding be returned to SAC. All expenditures over $1,500.00
for spring 2006 must be submitted prior to April 15, 2006. Expenditures
more than $100.00 and under $1,500.00 must be submitted prior to April
30, 2006. All other expenses or receipts must be submitted prior to June
1, 2006. Failure to meet university accounting deadline may result in
extreme delays in your paperwork processing, also could result in your
paperwork being rejected and the expense not being allowed. Please refer
to the Segregated Fee Manual for more instructions on spending state
STUDENT ORGANIZATION INFORMATION SESSIONS
The Student Activities Organization
Resource Center located in the Union WG85 will be hosting informational
workshops for Spring 2006. These sessions
will be able to answer your questions you may have on rules, procedures,
deadlines etc. The next workshops will be held Monday, March 27th at
12:30 pm and Tuesday, March 28th at 6 pm each lasting an hour. These
sessions will repeat every other week until May 8th and 9th. If you have
specific questions you would like answered at the workshops or to reserve

BODY IMAGE SUPPORT GROUP
Tuesdays, 6:30-8pm, On Campus, FREE, March 14-May 9 (no group, March
21st). Has body image got your down? You are not alone! This educational
group for UWM women students is for you! Learn more about the issue through
a series of workshops and talk about it with other women students with
similar concerns. Sponsored by the UWM Women's Resource Center and the
Physicians of Columbia Psychotherapy Center. To register or for more

SPRING CLEANING EXCHANGE
It's that time of year again! Time to clear
out your old clutter and bring it into the Peer Mentoring Center for
the Spring Cleaning Exchange
(March 13-17 and March 27-31)! Bring in clothing, books, or anything
else that you no longer want but think someone else might. You can also
stop in to see what others have left behind. Like they say, "one
person's clutter is another person's treasure." All items that are
left at the end of the exchange will be donated to the Salvation Army.
So go home and clean out those closets! And stop in the center March
13-17 and March 27-31 to see if you can find your treasure!
STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS CEREMONY
The 6th annual Student Achievement
Awards Ceremony nomination forms are online at www.activities.uwm.edu,
in Union rooms WG85 and 350. The
deadline for nominations is March 31st. There are seven categories and
some could get your organization some extra cash.
The Corner House is hosting a conference called Expressions: Sexuality
and Faith. It is completely student run and will be held on Saturday,
April 1 in the Union Ballroom. The cost for the conference is $15, which

5TH ANNUAL HABITAT FOR HUMANITY SLEEP-OUT
On Wednesday, April 5 UWM Habitat for Humanity will be raising awareness
for homelessness by spending one night out in the elements in Spaights
Plaza. You are invited to join Habitat for a night under the stars in
someone else's shoes. You can register as a student organization for
$25 or you can sign up as an individual or a group of friends for $5
each. Cardboard boxes will be provided for you to sleep in and decorate.
All of the proceeds will go toward the UWM Habitat for Humanity 2007

2006 HUNGER CLEANUP - Center for Volunteerism and Student Leadership
Hunger Cleanup will be taking place on Saturday, April 8 from 9:00am-12:00pm
and there's still room for more volunteers! We have some great work sites
this year like helping out at the Hope House's food pantry, a homeless
shelter on the south side; getting your hands dirty at Growing Power,
a community food garden; sorting through donations for the Guest House,
a homeless shelter for men; and many more! Please consider being a part
of UWM's largest one-day volunteer event – last year 500 volunteers
participated and this year we're looking for 600! Register as a group
(either a student organization or a group of friends) or by yourself!
We also encourage you to fundraise in the weeks leading up to the event;
all of the money raised will go to an agency combating hunger and homelessness
in Milwaukee. Fundraising is not mandatory to participate in the event,
but if you raise at least $35.00, you'll get a free Hunger Cleanup t-shirt!
