SAC LARGE GRANT MEETING
The large grant meeting (over $700) for spring 2007 expenses will be
held on Nov 17th and 18th if necessary. The deadline for grant requests
will then be Nov 3r by 4 pm. If you miss the deadline for this meeting,
then your group will be limited to emergency grants for the spring which
are limited to $700 or less. Forms and instructions for grant funding

STUDENT ACTIVITES OFFICE UPDATE
Although there has been some problems and delays caused by the lack
of staff in the office, the staff have been working hard to catch up
on everything. The renewal process was finished this week, so the web
list of groups should be updated shortly. The good news is we have five
candidates for the office manager position and will be interviewing them
in the next two weeks. We also have two transfer requests for the business
manager position, which means we can have someone who understands UWM
accounting procedures in place fairly quickly. We will interview those
candidates in two weeks. As soon as we get some consistent office coverage
we will return to being open on Wednesdays and normal operating hours.
We also will be utilizing some of the staff from the Office of Student
Life to help fill in coverage gaps in our staffing. Unfortunately they
will not be able to provide much policy or financial assistance, but
will be able to take messages and accept forms.
EVENT ADVISING HELP
Rebecca Grassl from Union Programming will be assisting the CSI
Office while the Program Adviser position in vacant. For the fall semester
she
will available to meeting with student organization officers who want
help in planning their events. She will be available for six hours per
week in Union 320:
Tuesdays 10 am to Noon
Wednesdays Noon to 2 pm
Thursdays 4 to 6 pm
She will be available on a limited basis outside these

PANTHERPROWL RUN / WALK FOR SCHOLARSHIPS!
Help us raise
money for UWM scholarships by volunteering, walking or running in the
2nd annual panther prowl on October 15! We need volunteers
before the event to help out with stuffing the runner / walker packets
at the UWM Alumni House on TUES, OCTOBER 10th anytime between 9AM -4PM.
Even if you only have 1 hour, it would be great help for the event. The
Alumni House is located at 3230 E. Kenwood Blvd, which is at the very
end of Kenwood Blvd overlooking the Lake. For more information contact

RAK-ATHON REGISTRATION HAS BEGUN
HELP AN ELDERLY PERSON WITH OUTDOOR
CHORES ON NOV 4 FROM 9AM TO NOON Join us for the 5th Annual RAK-athon,
where we will work in groups of 5 to assist elderly residents around
their homes. The RAK-athon stands for Random Acts of Kindness, and
is a great way for you and a group of friends to help an older adult
in
our community with raking, cleaning, and winterizing. To sign-up send
