SA ELECTION FORMS DUE FRIDAY BEFORE 3 PM
Nomination packets are available in IEC office, Union 363, the Center for Student Involvement, Union 350, and online at http://www.activities.uwm.edu. Nomination Papers Are Due Friday, March 30th By 3:00 Pm In The Independent Elections Commissioner Office Union Room 363E. If you have any questions please contact Ada Hyso, Independent Elections Commissioner, in Union 363E or iec.uwm@gmail.com.

SA ELECTION DATES CHANGED
The Election Commissioner has changed the SA election dates to April 26th-27th, 2007. The election campaign period begins on April 24th and end at the conclusion of voting on the 27th. On the days of the election there will be no campaigning in the neutral areas around the polling sites. ELECTION CAMPAIGNING REGULATIONS
No student or organization may use any university resources for political activity associated with these elections that includes your "@uwm.edu" email account, computer labs, student organization office equipment, and etcetera. Using off-campus email accounts to mail such as hotmail.com or yahoo.com to mail to individuals’ uwm.edu account is acceptable. For more information about the election see the IEC election web site at http://www.uwm.edu/Dept/sao/Election07.htm.

ELECTION POLICY FOR SANDBURG HALLS
Anyone desiring to campaign as a candidate or on behalf of a candidate for a UWM student political office must follow Sandburg Halls policy. Door to door campaigning or solicitation of any kind IS NOT ALLOWED. Flyer and other materials may only be distributed through the Program Services Center or by reserving a booth. Candidates or their representatives may speak to residents in meeting rooms or House lounges - by invitation only - and at the times specified in the invitation. ON THE DAYS OF THE ELECTION THEIR WILL BE NO CAMPAIGNING ALLOWED IN THE LOBBY OR WITHIN 50 FEET OF THE ENTRANCES. Any questions related to the following University Housing policies regarding booth and room reservations, advertising or posting materials, and political campaigning, can be answered by staff in the Program Services Center, located in Sandburg Commons or by calling 229-5343.

CHECK-OFF ELECTIONS
On April 26th & 27th as part of the Student Association elections, students may designate a portion of their segregated fees to the registered student organization of their choice. No student or organization may use any university resources for political activity, including promoting voting for your group in the check-off elections. This includes using your "pantherid@uwm.edu" email account, computer labs, student organization office equipment, and etcetera. Using off-campus email accounts to mail such as hotmail.com or yahoo.com to mail to individuals’ uwm.edu account is acceptable. All student organizations approved by the Center for Student Involvement prior to April 1, 2007 will be included in the check-off elections. Organization codes and instructions will be posted on the election web site closer to the election.

SAC FALL 2007 LARGE GRANT FUNDING MEETING
The large grant meeting for fall 2007 (requests over $700) has been set. It will be held on April 27th, 28th, and 29th, beginning at 10 am. large grant requests shall be submitted to the Center for Student Involvement by Thursday, April 13 at 3:00 P.M. SAC will NOT CONSIDER requests submitted after this deadline. Requests that do not have a representative present during the large grant meeting will not be considered. Expenses that occur in July 2007 may or may not be eligible for this meeting. If the expenditure must be made in June (payment made) for a trip or program in July, then it would not qualify. If the actual expense will occur in July then it is eligible.

SAC SMALL GRANTS MEETINGS
The SAC Schedule for the rest of the spring semester is below. All small grant requests should be submitted to the CSI office by 4:00 P.M. on the previous Thursday before the small grants meeting to the held on Tuesday.
April 10th: 8:30 P.M.
April 24th: 8:30 P.M.

"GAY? FINE BY ME." CAMPAIGN
*** Gay? Fine By Me! t-shirts for sale. If you don't have one yet, it's best to pick up one now! The LGBT Resource Center and your Student Association are sponsoring "Gay? Fine By Me" t-shirts to promote the National Day of Silence on Wednesday, April 18th. T-shirts come a wide variety of sizes and colors, and they're $5. Wow! $5 for a fantastic t-shirt?? Pick them up in the LGBT Resource Center. While supplies last! The "gay? fine by me." t-shirt project aims to give students and staff a simple but effective way to counter homophobia. The project began at Duke University where it transformed the university into a gay-friendly campus. Since then, the t-shirt project has spread to over 100 schools, churches and communities.
