Tuesday, April 15, 2014

Beth Higgins (M.Arch 2013) recently presented her thesis "Learning Landscapes: Shifting the Standard of Institutional Architecture" at the 2014 Green Schools National Conference in Sacramento.

"Architecture has the potential to provide so much more toward the education of future generations than is currently realized…. Design that provides layers of experience through material and form inherently ignites the element of wonder in a child. We can theorize that dynamic spaces can foster more intellectual experiences and a broader understanding of the world around us, establishing a stronger sense of place and a regard to proximity."

Her thesis document can be found on the SARUP network : R:\Resource Center\Image Collections\theses\2013
