SARUP’s Julie Reindl has received two professional development awards, the Ryland Fellowship from EDUCAUSE and the UWM Academic Staff Professional Development Award. These awards made it possible for Julie to attend the EDUCAUSE Institute Management Program, which offers an invaluable opportunity to share information and experiences with peers and seasoned IT managers from campuses across the country.

The Jane N. Ryland Fellowship helps develop future IT leaders in higher education by providing opportunities for professionals to attend EDUCAUSE conferences and leadership training events. The fellowships recognize a combination of past achievement, personal and institutional commitment, potential benefit, and financial need. The program is named for Jane N. Ryland, who, as president of CAUSE from 1986 to 1998, recognized the importance of educational programs to support and develop IT professionals throughout higher education.

The UWM Academic Staff Professional Award is offered by the Provost, the Academic Staff Committee and the Academic Staff Awards Committee, providing support to academic staff to attend opportunities that will benefit the department and the university. Two SARUP staff members received this award, the second being Sharadha Natraj, Special Librarian.
