How many faculty does the program have?

The program has six full-time faculty members plus three half-time instructors. In addition, the program contracts with working professionals to offer additional courses in elective areas and on special topics.

What specializations are faculty members in?

Faculty members' specializations correspond to the specializations offered to students, namely, urban revitalization, economic development, urban geographic information systems, transportation, physical planning and urban design, and environmental resources.

Are faculty members practicing planners?

All members of the faculty are actively involved in planning practice through community service and consulting activities. The faculty also maintains good relations with practicing planners through professional associations (such as the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Planning Association), through our half-time and ad hoc faculty, and through our on-going relationships with alumni.

Have your faculty published anything recently?

Yes, all of the full-time faculty members are active scholars and publish in the leading journals in their fields of specialization. A number of faculty members have published books that are recognized as the leading texts in their fields. The faculty is well-known in the planning academy.
