Welcome to the School of Continuing Education (SCE), the gateway to contemporary education programs and services for the "8-88" crowd. As one of 12 schools and colleges that comprise UW-Milwaukee and with deep roots in University Extension, SCE is the largest provider of noncredit continuing education in Southeastern Wisconsin.
Here are a few facts:
- Our education programs number 1,200 - from engineering to language immersion
- We enroll more than 19,000 participants annually
- Our more than 600 instructors, who are real-world practitioners, offer theory to practice
- We provide access and flexibility to our programs through the latest technology, onsite delivery and hybrid learning models
- SCE continues to expand its international programs and partnerships
- Core to SCE programs are relevant, outcome-based and experiential learning processes
Our programs for professional development and personal enrichment continue to evolve, responding to new priorities for organizational transformation, innovation, competency development and growth. Whether individuals are in business, engineering, nonprofit management, education, government, or are exploring new personal endeavors, SCE has the program or can create it through our customized approach.
We also address critical community priorities through partnerships with the Milwaukee Public Schools, Department of Public Instruction, and a variety of nonprofits, foundations and federal agencies.
SCE is committed to providing diverse programs and conducting applied research, and we are proud to be your gateway for continuing education.
Sincerely,

Dr. Patricia Arredondo
