ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview

This is the last step in the Spanish certificate program. Upon completion of Spanish VI and one elective Spanish course (elective course is not required for students taking core courses entirely online), make arrangements to schedule your interview exam. This will determine your level of oral proficiency. The OPI is a highly specialized method of testing to ascertain the Spanish proficiency level of candidates in the areas of interactive listening and speaking. Pre-registration is required.

ACTFL OPI ratings are recognized by many Fortune 500 companies, US government agencies and by the American Council on Education (ACE) for the awarding of college credit.

Register online or by phone with Customer Service at 414-227-3200, M-F, 8am-5pm. Once registered, please contact the UWM-SCE Language Department (languages@uwm.edu or 414-227-3118) to setup your interview time and date.

*You may schedule an ACTFL OPI or Written Proficiency Test (WPT) with UWM-SCE at anytime in a number of languages, regardless of your participation in the Spanish certificate program.
