The UWM Writing Project-Young Writer's Camp; Gr. 5-8

Back by popular demand, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Writing Project (UWMWP) is sponsoring a camp for aspiring writers entering grades 5-8. Meet each day in writing groups facilitated by experienced writers and teachers whose common goal is to inspire the imagination and have fun! Students of all writing abilities are welcome.
-Write daily in a creative, supportive environment
-Explore a variety of genres, including poetry, short stories, plays, graphic novels and essays
-Learn writing techniques used by professional writers
-Receive individual instruction and response in small groups from UWMWP writing teachers
-Meet and share writing with young writers from throughout the county
-Engage in process writing: generating ideas, drafting, revising, editing and publishing
Young Writers' Camp culminates in a celebration of writing and an opportunity to share your favorite pieces! Past participants are encouraged to attend.
