Color of Child Welfare Summit

Within the last ten years, the issue of racial and ethnic disproportionality and disparate outcomes for children and families of color has become a major topic within the child welfare community. In our quest to identify which causal factors lend themselves to this crisis, we have invited national and local speakers to address topics on including but not limited to Adoption Disproportionality, the Multiethnic Placement Act (MEPA) and Adoption Safe Families Act (ASFA) Impact On Communities of Color, Trauma Informed Care, Strategies to Prevent Failed Adoptions, Racial Disparities: A Challenge to Social Work Ethics and Values, White Privilege and Racism in Child Welfare, Courts Catalyzing Change, and the Color of Child Welfare Policy. The Color of Child Welfare Summit is not only an event, but it is a journey towards strategic community partnership in strengthening our child welfare system!
