Drawing People and Portraits

 
Experiment with self portraits, drawing from life and photographs. Instructive tips will help guide you to an authentic resemblance! Learn how portraiture is handled by a variety of historical and contemporary artists. All levels of experience are welcome. Click "more" for suggested supply list.

The basic list of supplies you'll be using during the course:

An ebony pencil or another pencil with a similar darkness (one with a rating of around 2B)
A pencil sharpener
A sketchbook. Try to get one 11 x 14 inches in size (or close to it)
An eraser

You're welcome to bring any other supplies you wish to use such as colored pencils, crayons, pastels and similar media.

Instructor recommends getting supplies at Utrecht Art, 2219 N. Farwell Ave. in Milwaukee. If a specific item is not available, a Utrecht employee will assist you in finding an alternative.
