The Middle East as Seen by a Scholar-Diplomat

 
Learn more about how oil and religion intermix to influence everything from day-to-day life to international relations in the Middle East. Drawing from his personal experiences in Foreign Service assignments, Dr. Gerlach will provide an in-depth analysis of this volatile area.

Presenter: Frederick H. Gerlach, Ph.D. received a B.A. from UW-Madison and an M.I.A. and Ph.D. from Columbia University, specializing in the Middle East. He was a Foreign Service Officer for the Department of State 1966-87 and an international business consultant in Germany. He currently consults in Milwaukee and is also a part time instructor of courses such as "World of Islam" at area universities.
