Great African Warrior and Sweet Thang

 
Enjoy a lively and interactive presentation of traditional African singing, drumming and storytelling led by prominent Milwaukee singer, Adekola Adedapo. Be prepared to join in!

Presenter: Adekola Adedapo, a jazz singer, storyteller and actress, has been a prominent figure in Milwaukee's jazz scene for decades. In 1978 she studied to become a Yoruba priest on the Oyotunji African village commune in South Carolina. There she lived a lifestyle modeled after the Yoruba of southwestern Nigeria, studying their history, rites and rituals, speaking the language and wearing the traditional dress.
