Screenwriting; Gr. 9-12 New Class

In this class you will transform an idea from any genre into a treatment, then an outline and finally a completed short screenplay. Through examples and writing exercises, participants will learn screenwriting concepts such as structure, plot, character, dramatic tension, and climax and catharsis. There will be an emphasis on character development and scene work, with tips and tricks for overcoming blocks and productive brainstorming. This class is perfect for those new to the art of screenplay or those looking to enhance their knowledge of creating the screen story. We will workshop writing exercises and screenplays in a fun, low-pressure environment. Participants will complete one short screenplay ready for production or submission.
