The diversity of environments within Whitnall Park's Wehr Nature Center is remarkable. Distinct habitats include prairie, savannah, woodlands and wetlands; all abound with flowers that have adapted to Wisconsin's changing seasons. Jim Barnes will present an educational experience about native wildflowers and weedy interlopers alike, where and how they thrive, and seasonal changes that provide the conditions for the hundreds of varieties that bloom throughout the year. Afterward, take a guided hike to view examples of the environments and flowering plants discussed.
