	SA-Introduction to Child Care (School-Age Focus)

	This introductory three-credit course explores the philosophy and goals for high-quality programs and establishes an understanding of the principles of child growth and development. With an overview of the rules and regulations governing group care for school-age children and the responsibilities of the providers, you’ll build a solid foundation for working with children and youth in afterschool and child care settings.
More ▼ This course is a DCF approved school-age only equivalent to Introduction to the Child Care Profession. It is also recognized as the first course of Wisconsin Registry's Afterschool and Youth Development Credential. Close ▲ Who Should Attend ▼ Site directors, educators and group leaders working with youth ages 5 to 12 in afterschool programs and child care settings including, school-age classrooms in family and group child care centers, community-based programs, school-community partnerships and summer day camps.
