SA-Introduction to Child Care (School-Age Focus) New Class Blended Online and Face-To-Face Program   Available Online

 

This introductory three-credit course explores the philosophy and goals for high-quality programs and establishes an understanding of the principles of child growth and development. With an overview of the rules and regulations governing group care for school-age children and the responsibilities of the providers, you’ll build a solid foundation for working with children and youth in afterschool and child care settings.

This course is a DCF approved school-age only equivalent to Introduction to the Child Care Profession. It is also recognized as the first course of Wisconsin Registry's Afterschool and Youth Development Credential.

Who Should Attend

Site directors, educators and group leaders working with youth ages 5 to 12 in afterschool programs and child care settings including, school-age classrooms in family and group child care centers, community-based programs, school-community partnerships and summer day camps.
