Military Traumatic Stress Available Online

 

Many think of military trauma and automatically assume the cause was combat. However, there are many traumatic events that can occur during one’s military service, and there is a great need for aiding these returning veterans. Develop a basic understanding of the various types of traumatic events that occur in the military, and learn to assist with the transition back into civilian life.

Who Should Attend

This course is designed for those professionals who may be working with the military, veterans and their families with the ultimate goal being to improve understanding and treatment of veterans.

Benefits and Learning Outcomes

  • Identify specific stressors in combat which may precipitate post-traumatic stress
  • Identify at least five traumatic incidents (other than combat) that may result in military traumatic stress
  • Understand how these traumatic events may affect transition to civilian life
  • Identify resources for further education or referral
