Responsive Design

More people than ever before are buying and using smartphones and tablets to stay connected and make online purchases. As a result, many are using these devices as their primary way to view online content. No longer are websites viewed primarily from a PC, but instead from many different devices and browsers. It is imperative that web design accommodate this variety, and be programmed to deliver the best user experience, regardless of the device.

Responsive design allows for delivery of content that is appropriate for the device requesting the information by using media queries. This course focuses on the basics of responsive design and covers user interface design for mobile web, iPhone and Android apps.

This class can be taken individually or as part of the Web Certificate Programs.

"Good pace with the topic and lab assignments. I'll definitely come back to work with a good understanding of responsive design and how to deal the web developers."

"This was my first time taking a continuing education-type class at UW-Milwaukee. I was very pleased. The instructor was very knowledgeable. He continually allowed time for questions and made very clear that if at any point we had a question, to ask it. I really liked the fact the instructor could explain a concept then be hands on with the computer to reinforce what we just learned."
