Motivational Interviewing

 

Motivational Interviewing is considered best practice in working with clients to facilitate change.  This is a model that is infused with respect and compassion for clients.  Participants in this training will develop skills in working with clients to resolve ambivalence to make a commitment to change.

  • Utilize effective listening skills to understand the client’s dilemma as they consider change
  • Utilize specific Motivational Interviewing strategies to focus the client and maintain direction toward change
