Othello: A Dark, Italian Love Tragedy With a Hidden God for Our Times

 

Study one of Shakespeare’s most well-known plays, a Venice love story with deep shadows. Set during the late 16th century wars between Turkey and Venice, the play debuted in 1604 at the court of King James I. Following an introduction on the first day, discuss the piece in detail, act by act.
