Exploring Environmental Sciences Gr. 6-8 New Class


Develop an appreciation for the sciences surrounding environmental issues, while discovering southeastern Wisconsin! Visit environmental education community centers; kayak the Root River; research wildlife, water quality, Lake Michigan and its beaches; study habitats including woods, prairies and waterways; examine living organisms in both indoor and outdoor laboratory settings using microscopes and other research tools; and explore the multitude of related career opportunities. Note: This course is offered in partnership with UW-Parkside, and will include travel to the Racine/Kenosha area at least three of the five days. Visits may include the Kenosha Dunes and the Chiwaukee Prairie. Enrollment is limited to 20.
