Adventures in History: The World of Benjamin Franklin and His Sister Jane

Benjamin Franklin is larger than life – printer, writer, stationer, scientist, statesman, inventor and more. Franklin's biographer described him as a "harmonious human multitude." But until Jill Lepore recently published Books of Ages: The Life and Opinions of Jane Franklin, few had heard of Franklin's favorite sister. Discuss Benjamin Franklin and his world, through the lens of political, social and cultural history. Contrast his life and times with Jane's life, from a women's history perspective.
