Understanding Water Supply and Pollution Control New Class

Milwaukee is very fortunate to be located along the Great Lakes of North America which contain 20% of the world’s freshwater.  Incredible resources for both recreational activities and economic development, they also comprise a fragile ecosystem which must be carefully managed and protected.  Receive an overview from an environmental engineering perspective of the many aspects involved in water supply and pollution control for the urban environment.  Understand how environmental engineering practices are used to protect the environment and the health of humans.  Consider the components of water quality, the processing of drinking water as well as wastewater, and see what challenges are faced in creating sustainable practices.
