Communication Styles - Valuing Individual Preferences - WiSE - Oct. 2, 2014

 

The Valuing Individual Preferences session will help participants understand and adapt to the differences in people’s behavioral styles. Prior to the session, participants complete the Drake P3 Communication survey and receive their peronalized feedback results during the session, valued at $150. Participants will gain insight into individual strengths and blind spots, as well as how to “flex” to others and build stronger relationships.

 Session Objectives

By participating in Valuing Individual Preferences, participants will increase inter-personal effectiveness by:

  • • Gaining awareness about their preferred behavior traits
  • • Gaining awareness about how to “flex” to other behavioral styles.

About our Presenter - Janine Smith

Janine Smith, President of JS Performance Strategies, has over 16 years’ experience inimproving employee productivity and organizational effectiveness.

Janine began her career in the mutual fund industry as part of a corporate university with a focus on assessing individuals and teams and aligning employee development strategies with organizational needs. When offered an opportunity to head up Organizational Development she transitioned to the insurance brokerage business. Her primary accomplishment was designing and executing an organizational strategy in areas of management and leadership, teambuilding, presentation skills and communication. In addition, she worked one-on-one and with management teams to improve manager effectiveness in communication, coaching, motivation, conflict resolution, and performancemanagement.

As a professional consultant, Janine uses her expertise to serve clients in the financial, service and manufacturing industries. Her clients include North Shore Bank, The Boldt Company and Travel Guard. Leveraging her practical experience, Janine assists organizations to:

Improve organizational performance using assessments and benchmarking to match the “right person to the right role”.

Enhance manager’s effectiveness in core management skills including identifying a performance gap in terms of skill power and will power and applying “situational” strategies to address the performance gap.

Engage subject matter experts in improving presentation and training skills.

Additionally, as a Master Trainer with the Drake P3 talent assessment, she certifies and

coaches clients in effectively applying behavioral concepts to hiring and selection, coaching, motivation, and more. By combining leadership principles with the Drake P3 talent assessment she helps manager’s to increase their effectiveness.

Throughout Janine’s career she’s been actively involved with the American Society of Training and Development (ASTD). She's served in various leadership roles including the VP of Membership, Special Events Committee Chair, and Programming Committee Chair. In addition, many clients ask her to participate in their industry conferences to showcase their accomplishments in working together.
