 The Hefter Conference Center is located on the SW corner of Lake drive and Hartford Avenue. The first floor of this beautifully restored mansion is available for official UWM conferences, seminars, meetings, readings and presentations, and University receptions. The house was begun in 1911 and was the home of the Armin Schlesinger family and later the William Brumder family. In 1946, the University aquired the property and used it as a dormitory until completion of the Sandburg Towers.
