Dr. Robin Kent has a B.Eng.(Hons.) in Materials Engineering from Monash University (Australia) and a Ph.D. in Polymer Physics from the University of Surrey (UK). Dr. Kent has been involved with plastics processing since 1972 in a variety of sectors ranging from extrusion to injection molding. He has many years experience in process management and product design, having worked as technical director for several major plastics processing companies in the UK and Europe. He is currently managing director of Tangram Technology Ltd., consulting engineers for plastics processing specializing in energy management in plastics processing. As an independent consultant, he has carried surveyed and assessed over 250 companies worldwide.
His publications include over 250 technical and management papers on plastics and windows, and six books on plastics processing. He regularly lectures on energy management in plastics processing and materials technology throughout the world. He has chaired five committees setting standards for the UK and European plastics and window industry, and is a regular judge for major plastics and glazing industry awards. Dr. Kent is a Fellow of the Institution of Materials, Minerals and Mining, a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Horner's and Freeman of the City of London, currently sits on the Research and Technical Committees of the Centre for Window and Cladding Technology and is immediate past Chairman of the Plastics Consultancy Network.
