She has authored numerous publications on nonprofit management, beginning with a study in 1979 that stands as a seminal piece of research on the topic of organizational effectiveness. She has taught courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, principally in nonprofit management, and is a frequent guest lecturer at area universities. She co-founded the nation's first business incubator for the arts, and in addition, she helped create the first national association championing nonprofit excellence.
In 1994, Ms. Wyzbinski's firm was engaged by the Nonprofit Management Fund in Milwaukee to design an application process, review proposals, gather evaluative information, and coordinate special initiatives of the Fund. Since then, the 17 foundations, corporations, and United Ways, which comprise the Fund, have awarded over $7.5 million through 1,500 grants to build the capacity of local nonprofit organizations. Most recently, Ms. Wyzbinski designed a comprehensive initiative to strengthen nonprofits Boards throughout southeastern Wisconsin. This initiative - BoardStar - has launched a galaxy of program constellations for local Board Directors to increase their effectiveness in governance.
