  Chris Yuan  

Chris Yuan is an Assistant Professor in Department of Mechanical Engineering at UW-Milwaukee. He earned his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, with minor concentrations in Environmental Engineering and Management of Technology.

Professor Yuan's research lies in the field of sustainable design and manufacturing, particularly in the improvement of the sustainability of manufacturing and industrial operations through the development and application of innovative methods and engineering techniques. He has extensive research experience in sustainability improvement of manufacturing industry, for such companies as GM, Ford, Dell, Briggs & Stratton, Johnson Controls, etc.

Professor Yuan holds two academic certificates: Engineering and Business for Sustainability Certificate, and Management of Technology Certificate. Professor Yuan is a member of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), a senior member of Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), and a nominated Research Affiliate of the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP).
