  Tom Mortensen  

Tom Mortensen, RLA, has more than 28 years of experience in the landscape architecture and horticultural professions. Prior to joining the R.A. Smith National, he owned and operated his own highly respected design firm, which provided landscape architecture, site planning, and consultation on municipal projects, park planning, regional and urban planning, as well as residential and commercial design projects throughout the state.

Tom's experience includes expertise in the areas of site planning, urban redevelopment, project management, park and public open space design, retail developments, restoration plans and native planting design.

Some of his projects include Harley-Davidson, Summerfest, Cabela's, G.E. Medical Systems, Milwaukee County Parks, Mequon Nature Preserve, Aztalan State Park, Madison Children's Museum, The US Forest Service and the Veteran's Administration. He has also designed major projects throughout the US for national retailers and land development companies.

Tom is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and is a licensed and registered landscape architect in the States of Wisconsin and Arizona, and is a member of the Wisconsin Park & Recreation Association. He is also on the Waukesha County Economic Development Corporation's Advisory Group on Sustainability.

He has given presentations to the Wisconsin State Bar, The Audubon Society and at the SE2 Conference for the Wisconsin Green Building Alliance on topics pertaining to site design, stormwater management, native landscapes and site development.
