Carol Mittlesteadt is a freelance graphic designer specializing in developing print, packaging and interactive solutions while keeping abreast of industry trends and new developments in design and marketing. She has developed and taught a non-credit Short Course for UWM's University Information Technology Services focused on giving non-designers an understanding of the basic concepts of Graphic Design and promoting the importance of the designer's role in information design. Carol earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art & Design at Columbia College in Chicago. In 2009, she earned the Merit Award for Direct Mail Campaign from Women in Communication and an Award of Excellence for her E-Newsletter in 2008 from the Special Interest Group on University and College Computing Services. A friend to nature and the community, Carol volunteers at Pine View Wildlife Rehabilitation Center creating marketing materials for their annual fundraising event. In addition, Carol advises on design direction and file production for the global network of designers for the Positive News Youth Views group.
