Mindy Ochs is the Environmental and Regulatory Director at Western Lime Corporation, headquartered in West Bend, WI and brings with her over 14 years of experience in the environmental and safety field. Ms. Ochs is a licensed Environmental Engineer and is responsible for the oversight and direction of the environmental and safety programs for all three of Western Lime's lime manufacturing plants as well as seven quarries located in Wisconsin and Michigan. As a member of the executive management team she is also involved in financial decisions, long term planning, strategy development and management training and mentoring. Prior to joining Western Lime, Ms. Ochs held positions with Fond du Lac County administering the mine reclamation program and working as a consultant in the landfill construction and remediation fields. Western Lime's manufacturing facilities are highly regulated under both environmental and safety regulations. Ms. Ochs' responsibilities include continuous improvement initiatives, safety process direction and oversight, permitting, EMS development and implementation, regulatory negotiations, training, auditing and benchmarking. She has extensive experience with Air Permitting, Storm Water, SPCC, Zoning, Mine Reclamation, Waste Regulations and Mine Safety and Health Administration Regulations (MSHA). Ms. Ochs is also very active in a number of trade associations. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Aggregate Producers of Wisconsin and the Federation of Environmental Technologists and previously served as the Chair of the Environmental Committee for the National Lime Association. These opportunities have been selected carefully based on a strong belief in the importance of educating and empowering members. Given the dynamic and ever-changing nature of the environmental and safety fields, she believes that ongoing learning and education is the key to successful environmental and safety programs.
