  Thorana S. Nelson  

Thorana S. Nelson, Ph.D. is emerita professor of family therapy in the department of Family, Consumer, and Human Development at Utah State University. She is a founding member and the secretary/treasurer of the Solution-Focused Brief Therapy Association.

She is a solution-focused trainer and supervisor. She is the author/editor of Education and training in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (Haworth, 2005), Handbook of Solution-Focused Brief Therapy: Clinical Applications (with Frank Thomas, Haworth, 2007), Solution-Focused Brief Practices With Long-Term Users of Mental Health Services: "I'm More Than My Label" (with Joel Simon, Haworth, 2007), and Doing Something Different: Solution-Focused Brief Therapy Practices (Haworth, 2010).

She and her husband, Victor, live in Mendon, Utah.
