Mary Pieschek is president of Pieschek Public Relations, a multiservice public relations and fundraising consulting firm based in Mequon, Wisconsin. A longtime public relations, fundraising, strategic planning, and political training consultant, Mary was named Outstanding Journalist in Wisconsin by the Associated Press.
She is an adjunct professor in the School of Business and in Communications at Concordia University of Wisconsin in Mequon and is also a School of Continuing Education instructor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she was named an Outstanding Alumnus.
Mary is an award-winning speech writer and an experienced investor relations and government relations professional. Fundraising campaigns she has managed have raised approximately $10 million for various nonprofit agencies and schools. She also has served as a college vice president of development/public relations, and as a fundraising officer and board member at several nonprofit agencies.
Mary’s public relations management fields include health care, energy, health insurance, politics, and the fine arts. In addition to Concordia University, her university teaching extends to four University of Wisconsin campuses: Milwaukee, Madison, Green Bay and Oshkosh. Her courses are in the fields of cross cultural communications, public relations, media communications, and philosophy with an ethics focus. She also conducts US and international training programs in public relations, communications, fundraising, strategic planning and ethics, and has managed many successful political campaigns.
Internationally, Mary developed and wrote all the training programs contained in The Toolkit for Effective Activism for the Women’s Democracy Network in Washington, D.C. www.wdn.org. The toolkit is designed to help WDN chapters across the world develop strategic, public relations, and media relations plans; personal advocacy and public speaking skills; and train the trainers programs. She has presented her classes to groups in Asia, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Africa, and Latin America,
Additionally, she has presented public relations workshops and keynote addresses at several major U.S. public relations conferences and for government and public relations industry leaders in Turkey.
