Tamara Wagner received her Bachelor of Arts in English and Spanish from Western Illinois University in 1999. She completed a Master of Arts in Foreign Language and Literature and a graduate certificate in Spanish>English Translation at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2001. She also holds DPI Spanish License #365 and has completed additional graduate work towards an M.A. in Education.
Over the past 12 years, Tamara has developed and taught a variety of courses for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Milwaukee Area Technical College, Veritas High School and local businesses. These courses include Spanish I-II, Spanish for Heritage Speakers, AP Spanish Language, Spanish for Healthcare Professionals, Spanish for Manufacturing, Spanish for Business Professionals, Desktop Publishing, Filmmaking and Graphic Design.
In addition to teaching, Tamara has extensive occupational experience. She has held positions in translation project management, course coordination and technology coordination. Her professional interests include language acquisition, literacy, translation, interpretation, bilingual education and educational technology.
Tamara strives to create a comfortable, engaging learning environment in which participants are able to quickly acquire language skills through hands-on practice and real-world applications.
