Kara Slaughter is the Government Relations Director for the Wisconsin Farmers Union.  She has a Law and Masters in Public Policy from the University of Minnesota.  At the Wisconsin Farmers Union, she works on policy development, and communicates policy positions and priorities to legislators and agency officials.  She also educates members on how to effectively participate in the democratic process, and responds to inquiries from the media and the general public about WFU’s policy positions.  Key policy issues for Wisconsin Farmers Union include competition and market concentration in commodity markets, farmland preservation, renewable energy, health care, and broadband access in rural areas.
