|Radiation Safety Officer & Protective Coatings Spe
Mr. Martin has over 40 years of experience with power generating facilities including: condition assessment, failure analysis, material selection, and corrosion and corrosion control and 30 years of experience with protective coatings. His experience also includes 15 years of developing and presenting training to power plant staff on aging management and hardware failure analysis.
As part of Altran's engineering staff working within Altran's materials engineering laboratory, he has conducted numerous failure analyses of plant equipment and components from mechanical, structural, and electrical systems and participated in root cause analyses. Examples include piping, valves, pumps, motors, breakers, transformers, bushings, and steel and concrete structures.
Taking advantage of this experience, Mr. Martin has developed and presented training courses for power plant staff. Several of the course topics include aging management, System Engineer walk downs, and hardware failure analysis. His more recent effort has been the development of EPRI's Identification and Detection of Aging Issues training program, a 6-module training program that addresses aging degradation mechanisms affecting metals, concrete, polymers, protective coatings, and electrical and I&C equipment in the plant. He has made over 200 presentations of this training to the staffs at more than 30 power plants.
As Altran's Protective Coatings specialist, he is responsible for all technical issues related to protective coatings and linings used in power generating and industrial facilities. He holds Protective Coating Specialist certification (#779-684-11159) from The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) and is Vice Chair of ASTM International Committee, D33 on Protective Coating and Lining Work for Power Generation Facilities. Mr. Martin also is a member of NACE International.
Mr. Martin, as Altran's Radiation Safety Officer, is responsible for all aspects of the Altran Solutions Radiation Safety Program and compliance with Altran's radioactive material license.
