  Glen Jeansonne  

Prof. Glen Jeansonne has taught at UWM for 35 years.  He has published 14 books, including biographies of Herbert Hoover, Barack Obama, Elvis Presley and Huey P. Long.  Prof. Jeansonne has won two UWM teaching awards, a Lifetime Research Award, and 22 grants and fellowships.  His book, Gerald L.K. Smith: Minister of Hate, was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize.  He has also taught 20th century American history at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, Williams College, and the University of Michigan.  A Louisiana native, he earned his B.A. at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, where he was salutatorian, and his M.A. and Ph.D. at Florida State University.
