“Public Broadcasting in the Digital Age”  Milwaukee Public Television has launched one of the most ambitious digital multicast plans in the country, experimenting with broadcast channels that offer local weather, traffic  and music, in addition to more traditional public television fare. Discover how MPTV has transitioned into the digital age and where public broadcasting is headed in the future. Ellis Bromberg has been the general manager of Milwaukee Public Television, which includes WMVS and WMVT broadcasting, online and print services, since 2000. He has spent more than 37 years in public broadcasting management, previously as the station manager of WILL-TV, Urbana, Illinois; director of TV broadcasting at WMHT, Schenectady, New York; and director of broadcasting and news director at WSKG TV and Radio, Binghamton, New York. A native of New York City, Ellis earned an M.A. in journalism from the Ohio State University, and a B.A. from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
