Steven M. Bierig is an arbitrator and mediator specializing in national labor and employment disputes. He is appointed to cases on an ad hoc basis and is a member of arbitration and mediation panels including the United States Postal Service and its constituent unions, the City of Chicago and the Fraternal Order of Police and the State of Illinois/AFSCME. He is also a contract mediator for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Steve is affiliated with the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service, the American Arbitration Association and is on the roster of arbitrators, mediators and fact-finders for the Illinois State, Local and Educational Labor Relations Boards. Steve received his J.D. with high honors from IIT/Chicago Kent College of Law. Prior to becoming a full-time neutral, he was engaged in the practice of labor law on the management side.
