Kathleen has served as an ad junct professor at the University of Wisconsin for a number of years, and has consistently been rated as one of the top instructors providing continuing education courses. Kathleen brings to the program a valuable blend of financial, business process, project management, and information systems knowledge and practical experience that has been developed through more than 25 years in the financial, insurance, and technology industries and other corporations. In addition to her business experience, she has been teaching numerous seminars and courses related to finance, managing costs and business process improvement.
Kathleen's strong background in accounting, finance, business process improvement and project management provide the foundation for her qualifications. She holds a bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin and her MBA is from Marquette University where she received the distinction of top graduate.
Most recently she served as an Assistant Director in the Controllers Department, Northwestern Mutual. Fortune magazine has rated Northwestern Mutual as the "Most Admired" company in the life insurance and financial products industry. She was responsible for cross-departmental process re-engineering efforts that implement best practices and improve operations; operational support of investment areas; helped establish a best practice project management office for the company; provided support of systems project efforts; and served as the business continuity planning coordinator.
She is an accomplished professional with seasoned experience including CFO, Controller/CIO, Budget Coordination, Internal Audit Manager, Operations Management, Consulting Manager, Process Improvement and Project Management positions. She has a proven track record of achievement of business goals. Besides being an excellent communicator, team player, mentor, and coach, she has an established ability to work with all departments within a business.
