  Rodney (Buck) Hillestad

Buck is founder and president of a Milwaukee training and development company specializing in the design, delivery and measurement of high-impact training programs.

His background includes 20 years with a major heavy equipment manufacturer in Racine, WI. The first 10 years of his tenure was spent primarily in the manufacturing and distribution area, beginning with production control, progressing through the managerial ranks, and concluding with the management of 32 hourly and 4 salaried employees.

The second half of his tenure was in the training arena, during which time he designed and delivered scores of programs. Topics included: front-line supervision skills, team-building, problem-solving, change management, selling strategies, facilitation skills and effective meetings, and train the trainer.

During four years as an employee involvement coordinator, he acted as consultant, trainer and facilitator to the 16-member joint labor and management steering committee. Together, they formed and trained more than 40 diverse employee involvement problem-solving teams and provided training to supervisors to help them make the transition from "cop" to coach.

Buck has also held positions as a product training specialist, sales training manager, design & deliver manager, and operations manager, all within Corporate Training Departments. Prior to founding his own firm, he spent three years in a staff position responsible for the activities and development of 62 corporate training personnel.
