  Peter C. Surette  

Pete Surette joined the rubber industry in 1969 after he graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, with a B.S. Degree in Plastics Engineering. Pete has held various positions throughout his career involving laboratory management, compound design, process evaluation, process and product enhancement, laboratory design, compound specification development, procedural and MSDS writings, technical training as well as technical sales and technical service. He has been a member of ASTM International since 1986, receiving the Society's Distinguished Service Award in 1998. Since 1996, he has represented the USA as a member, and then as a voting delegate of the International Standards Organization Technical Advisory Group - 45 on rubber. He has been the past chairman of the ASTM's Subcommittee D11.14 Time and Temperature-Dependent Physical Properties. He presently holds the positions of D11 First Vice Chairman, Secretary of Subcommittee D11.08 - Terminology, and Chairman of Subcommittee D11.10 Physical Testing. Pete owns his own consulting business, Focused Solutions, which was established in 2002. In 1993, he completed his MBA at Plymouth State College.
